This informative and educational training session will provide an in-depth understanding of the dispensing marketplace and provide guidance on running your dispensary as an efficient and profitable business. It will cover SOPs, Business Management, Stock Management & DSQS and will look to highlight key areas which may be effecting profits. You will have plenty of opportunity to question and discuss any issues you may have in your own practice.
Included in the day will also be an opportunity to look at how to best navigate the interactive drug tariff and evaluate your endorsing habits to stop the loss of those precious profits!
This session is best suited for those fulfilling a management role & GP Partners. However, everybody in the practice is responsible for contributing to the profitability of the business, therefore, this would also be applicable to dispensers and pharmacists, particularly if looking for an update on the using the Drug Tariff.
About Caroline Pond
Caroline is currently Operations Director for Medacy, a Clinical Pharmacist Services provider based in North Yorkshire. Her CV includes owning two successful community pharmacies and a five year period working in East Africa on a behaviour change programme funded by a major pharmaceutical company.
In 2014 Caroline joined an early pilot, run by Medacy, developing Clinical Pharmacist services to GP practices in North Yorkshire. This involved developing pharmaceutical care plans for patients with challenging medicinal needs. The success of this innovative service was instrumental in securing additional money from NHS England to expand the programme to one which, at the time, was the biggest pharmacist-led service in England.
More recently, Caroline has worked with CCGs, GP Federations and individual GP practices to develop their Clinical Pharmacist offering. Caroline’s extensive experience working as a business owner, clinical pharmacist and Communications Consultant made her the ideal choice to develop a PSUK / Medacy clinical service capable of making a fundamental difference to any dispensing practice.
